ETZ HAIM
Honoring Tradition,
Embracing the Future

Welcome to Etz Haim European Rabbinical Academy, a rabbinical school where the depth of Jewish tradition meets the cultural richness of Europe and the vibrant heritage of the Mediterranean. With an international faculty deeply rooted in the rabbinic traditions of these lands, we offer a unique learning experience enriched by history, philosophy, and spirituality.

This is a place of study that carries the echoes of Rashi’s France, Maimonides’ Andalusia and Egypt, the Tosafists’ Ashkenaz, and the luminous academies of Italy where Bertinoro, Sforno, Luzzatto, and others Italian Rabbis were trained. Here you will find a journey that blends scholarship, beauty, spiritual and intellectual depth with the inspiration of centuries of Jewish thought.

Whether you're from the USA, Europe, or anywhere in the world, this is an opportunity to explore the intellectual and spiritual legacy of the lands that shaped Jewish thought for centuries. Join us on this journey of study and growth.

Bridging tradition and modernity, the European Rabbinical Academy Etz Haim trains rabbis to serve a rapidly changing Jewish world. Rooted in the intellectual and spiritual legacy of European and Mediterranean Jewry, our academy fosters deep scholarship, creativity, and engagement with contemporary Jewish life.

Flexible, High-Level Learning

Designed for committed learners, our program offers rigorous study with the flexibility to accommodate personal and professional life. With an international faculty and an emphasis on intellectual depth, we train rabbis ready to lead with knowledge, wisdom, and vision.

At Etz Haim, all aspects of our curriculum are delivered online, allowing for flexible and accessible learning tailored to the needs of our students. Through interactive distance learning tools, participants engage with faculty and peers, fostering a vibrant online community. The only exceptions to this online format are the final exams and the Smicha/ordination ceremony, which are conducted in the same week in person in Italy, celebrating the culmination of the students’ journey and their ordination as Rabbis.
